Flying Taxi
What you see here is the Avcen Limited Jetpod T-100 City Flying Taxi, a VQSTOL (Very Quiet Short Take-off and Landing) vehicle that the company says could be in the air by 2010. The idea is that these flying cars would volley people between city centers and outlying areas (like airports) in order to reduce highway traffic. Avcen says that 75 of these in London could relieve road traffic of 37,000 return car trips per day all the while keeping things quiet and requiring only short landing strips made of pavement or grass. For air geeks, specs include dual jet engines with a thrust of 2 x 13.3 kN, a cruising speed of 350 mph, a range of 920 miles, an operating payload of 1,543 lbs, and seating for 7 pax.

Guerilla Street Art - The Midas Project
Ever heard of the King Midas, well long story short, he was a pretty greedy king who wished that whatever he touched would turn to gold, and ended up starving himself because all the food he touched turned to the valuable metal.
The project by an unknown rebel street artist questions the necessity of various objects in our daily life. The artist has been painting water fountains, public telephones, dustbins and other public stuff around the streets of barcelona to put his message out.

Blackberry Bold release dates, pricing leak out UPDATE: just estimates
Those of you dying to get your QWERTY on with RIM's hot new Blackberry Bold can start marking your calendars and stashing cash under the cushions -- release dates and pricing info have hit the tubes this morning. As expected, AT&T will get the Bold first in July for $300, while Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers will have to wait until September.

Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Edition IWC
Luxury German auto-maker, Mercedes-Benz, teamed up with Swiss watchmaker, IWC, to make a very limited and exclusive SL63 AMG. The car has a new white paint finish dubbed designo magno Kashmir, which is a combination of shades of pearl and egg shell color. The car has many special features and additions such as AMG sport seats that are covered with Tobago Brown nappa leather, black logo-emblazoned floor mats, and of course everything else the standard SL63 AMG has to offer. Peter Gronquist presents blinged out faux-designer weaponry such as Paul Smith rockets, Louis Vuitton electric chairs and Pacman bombs. Some pieces look really nice and are well fabricated, such as the Louis Vuitton chair, others came off a little cheap, which does not really work if you enter this kind of art. It also digs into broader issues such as how urban planning changes the environment of skaters and how skateboarders went from being ignored to being loved. Here are some sneak pictures of a Nike SB P-Rod 2 (Paul Rodriguez Pro model) sample designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara. The highlights are the rainbow colors on the heel detail and the small fragment logo on the tongue. The premium P-Rod 2 has a gucci style monogram pattern that was seen on the contrasts of the P-Rod 1 as well. The tongue adorns Fujiwara's signature in addition to Fragment Design's lightening bolts, so if this does come out to the general public, expect there to be line-ups. MORE HERE.
