Shepard Fairey - First Solo Museum Exhibition at ICA Boston
Shepard Fairey is no doubt one of the biggest names in street art. His "Andre the Giant" stencil one of the more famous guerrilla art pieces in recent memory. From February 6 to April 19, 2009, the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston will exhibit "Shepard Fairey: Supply and Demand." For years he's supplied the world with countless pieces, and commercial product with Obey, boosting his demand in the art world. That has yielded this show, his first solo museum exhibition.
The ICA has a commitment to street art, and is currently showing Street Level, which closes in mid-October.

This Friday, August 29th, will see the opening of a photography exhibit at Reserve LA, the flagship store of Freshjive. On show will be the work of photographer Edward Colver.

Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Mouse Pad For Numéro Tokyo
Fashion magazine Numéro Tokyo will start releasing some great reader give-aways with their October 2008 issue. The give-away will last for overall three months, starting in October and ending in December.
The October give-away is a real goodie - a Louis Vuitton produced mouse pad, featuring the Monogramouflage pattern, that was created this year by artist Takashi Murakami. In November they will be giving away a product by Mastermind Japan, more on that soon. Via Ako Tanaka.

SK8OLOGY Exhibition
This past weekend featured the opening exhibition of the skateboard art-related show, SK8OLOGY presented by ISM. With such a strong connection between art and the skate deck as a canvas, over the years a large culture has developed on this concept as numerous artists and pros donated boards for the exhibit. A list including Craig Stecyk, Nathan Pratt, Steve Caballero and Danny Gonzales, Jason Lee from My Name is Earl and Mike Shinoda of Linkin’ Park as well as international roster of artists including Audrey Kawasaki, Amy Sol, Chet Zar, Luke Chueh, Pearl C Hsiung, Sandow Birk, Tessar Lo, and Yoskay Yamamoto all had a hand in the exhibit (full list of contributors seen here). The next stop for the tour is San Diego’s Action Sports Retailer Trade Show from September 4-6 and then the Surf Expo, September 12-14. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Now That You Know, a non-profit organization which benefits girls from developing countries looking to fulfill their ambitions....See more HERE.

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt IPA: [ju'seːn] (born 21 August 1986) is a Jamaican sprinter. He holds world and Olympic records in both the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4x100 metres relay, with times of 9.69 seconds, 19.30 seconds and 37.10 seconds respectively. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he became the first man in history to break all three world records at one Olympics, and the first man since Carl Lewis in 1984 to win the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100 metres relay, at the same Olympics. Nike Boneyards Terminator
The second and final capsule of footwear within the Stussy x Neighborhood Boneyards collection is set to release this Saturday, August 23rd. Extensive talk has surrounded the choosing of the mid-80s collegiate basketball favorite, the Terminator as witnessed in interviews amongst the key figures from Nike, Stussy and Neighborhood. Bush: Back On The Bottle?
The national embarrassment that is our president once again raises its reddened face. In photographs from the Olympics in China, it appears that recovering souse, George W. Bush, is relapsing.
In one picture his face is flushed, his eyes droop, and his expression is dopey. In all fairness, that may be his normal expression. However, the bloody scrape on his arm suggests that he has recently taken a less than normal fall.
In the other picture, Bush appears to be having trouble remaining upright without considerable help. It takes three men to prop up the wobbly boozer-in-chief.

Sneaker Burger
The 1912 Space at Stockholm's Sneakersnstuff will serve as the city's Nike Sportswear outpost. It will remain open for two months, and during that time host an exhibition of art works interpreting classic Nike shoes and apparel. Among the pieces presented is Olle Hemmendorff's sneaker burger, turning the Air Max 90 into a tongue in cheek response to streetwear's fascination with food. Other artists represented include Hanna Weislander and Jonas Weihager.

Supra Silver Vaider
We show you today the silver Vaider, which landed over the weekend at Factory 413 in Los Angeles. The silver version uses mostly grey suede on theupper and did not create a totally flashed out version with the silver. Factory 413 also got in the silver Skytops and the silver Cuban slip-ons.

World's First sand Castle Hotel
The world's first sand castle hotel has recently opened at weymouth beach in the seaside town of dorset in the UK. The hotel was constructed from approximately 1000 tonnes of sand, built over 15sqm reaching a height of 4m. British sculptor mark anderson was commissioned by laterooms.com to create the hotel. For a mere 21USD a night guests can enjoy sleeping on a sand bed, bask in the summer sun and listen to the tide.

"The Air Yeezy is inspired by Kanye’s love for high top designer shoes, drafting from the collar molding seen in the Air Jordan V and featuring a thin midfoot strap hardly meant for support. While originally conceptualized atop a Dunk midsole, the final version of the Yeezy features the familiar shared tooling from the Jordan III and Air Revolution, which most recently was also featured on Jordan Brand’s Spiz’ike and a lesser known model that deservedly flew under the radar, the Flight 48. It’s also the bulkiness of the shoe’s tongue that stands out most, with West always opting to pop the tongue and leave the waxed laces loosely tied. An ode to his tour, the model’s outsole also actually glows in the dark, as similar to a common glow stick, if the shoe is held near light, the familiar green glowing hue will radiate afterwards out from under the shoe. This black/glow colorway features a ridiculously high quality full grain leather along the heel quarter, with rich suede making up the toe and midfoot overlays and patent leather highlighting the dominant midfoot strap."

Toyota's Winglet aims to usurp Segway
Introducing the Toyota Winglet. Still under development, Winglet's body has a 10.4 x 18-inch footprint and stands 1.5-, 2.2-, or 3.7-feet tall (depending upon the S, M, or L model chosen) and features an electric motor capable of a max 6km/h cruising speed for up to 10km a jaunt (only 5km for the S model). Like the Segway, the user controls the Winglet by shifting his weight to move the transporter forward and back or to make tight turns.
